Could anyone please tell me if there are any Haulage companies who will train their own drivers to qualify for LGV licence status.
l worked for Stagecoach andthey train all their drivers to pass the PCV Licence Test, providing that the employees agree to contract themselves to the company for a certain period.
l am curious to know whether any Haulage companies within the UK have a similar system

It depends where u live, in South Yorkshire there is a firm in Doncaster called Emms who train their own drivers, but these firms will tie u to their company for at least 2 yrs to recoup their training costs. This can work against u if it is a company that u find u do not like, but it can also work to ur advantage as well, after all u r gaining experience. l paid for myself & am now working full time as a Class 1 (C + E) driver. It was expensive, but well worth it & l do not regret it!
