Well, it depends on the circumstances in which you were caught.
If you were speeding or driving dangerously, or driving under the influence of drink or drugs or caused an accident then the penalty will vary.
You can at least expect a fine, points and if you have done any of the above - maybe even a ban.

you will most likely have your licence suspended and you would have to prove you had insurance, if you cant prove it you would pay a fine and you would have you licence removed

You get a fine. What happens if you run over a child with no motor insurance is.. You go to prison, and you will be paying compensation to the family for the rest of your life - so get some!

The usual thing to so is to get arrested by the Police, go to court and receive a fine and possibly a jail sentence along with a ban from driving.

in most cases your car will be siezed and you have to pay to get it back within 7 days - The longer you leave it the more it costs, You get 6 points on your license and a fine usually as well.

Your vehicle can be confiscated - and will be confiscated - you have no right to have it back - plus you will be prosecuted and receive points - you may be disqualified from driving.

Usually 6 points on your license, with a fine set by the magistrates court, depending on your circumstances.

You will receive a fine and points, you will also have your vehicle seized until you can prove you have insurance. You will be charged £125 plus VAT and up to £15 per day storage.

Firstly if you cannot prove you are insured the police can seize the vehicle you are driving and crush it,You may also be liable for 6points and a fine, basically you would be foolish to do it as police cars are fitted with ANPR cameras which check every number plate they go by.

several things: they beat the bottom of your feet with a cricket bat. They crush your car. they make you watch television until you go insane. and finally they stash you away in a dungeon.

There is no set rule although generally speaking its 6 points & a 200 quid fine but its up to the discretion of the judge when u go to the magistrates court. l got nicked last year for no insurance & only got a 150 quid fine & a 28 day ban & no points, yet my cousin who also got nicked for no insurance got 6 points & 400 quid fine, l caught the judge on a good day. The sentence is all to do with Mitigating circumstances which l had, all in all l got a right touch & learnt my lesson.
And l never had my car seized

The penalty is 6 - 8 points, plus a hefty fine and maybe community service or anything else they feel like. Your car will be seized and if you do not bail it out within 7 days it will be crushed.
