l just passed my driving test in the UK and really wanna know which cars are the cheapest to ensure for someone that is 18 and has just passed their test. Ford escort is £1600 its a joke

Cars are grouped into insurance categories you can look up insurance group 1 cars they will be 1.0 litre cars etc with small engines.

Ford Escorts are reportedly very easy to break into and steal, therefore represent a higher risk. Try a 1 litre Ford Fiesta. Generally the smaller the car and the engine, the cheaper the insurance.

A ford Fiesta 1.0 litre it will be keeper on the insurance and tax.

Group one cars. Small Fiats/Ford/Citroen etc.

Am afraid at such a young age you're insuarance will be very high. But it will go down each year if you dont make a claim. Usually cars at 1.3 litres or less are cheaper to insure. A nissan micra is a good example. Try TESCO INSUARANCE they are the cheapest l ever found after long searches.
