umm l dont know...a year? 6 months? 10 months? l dont know.

idk about where your at.. but where l live we had to carry our permit for about 9 months with certain amount of driving hours

its sopposed to be in 6 months. But thats your JOL. (junior operators lisence)

you gotta know road laws and what signs mean for a regular permit

for the actuall drivers license you gotta know that and how to drive

This may be different for New York, but usually it is 9 months after you get your permit (if you're 16 by that time.)

you have to take a drivers safety course; & after you take that you will get a certificate. Have someone fill in that ridiculous sheet that states you have 20 hours of driving & make an appointment at your local dmv to take the road test. If you really wanted to you could have your junior license in like 2 weeks [providing your local dmv has available appointments]
