l have hired a car in ireland for next week but have only just realised that it says the minimum age for driving is 23 which is what l am but also that you have to be driving for at least two years,

i have been driving for 1 year and 11 months. will they pull me up on this, will they notice? what do you think l should do.

what you read on the hire companies web site is mearly company guidelines. its down to the local managers discretion whether they will give you a car or not.

Dont worry about and just dont do anything stupid.

They may not notice, but you will not be insured, because you will be making a false declaration.

Although most wo not rent to anyone under age 23 without charging a higher premium, the only other requirement is that you have a valid license, they do not look at how long you've been driving.

Ring up the company and ask.

They should have picked this up when they took your license details.
l would call them as soon as possible and advise them because when you pick up the car they will want to see your license and then you will be stuck.

If it is not noticed and you get a car then it is quite likely that you will not be insured as it would have been a false declaration.

Contact the company now to save problems later.
