You cannot be any more scared than l was... seriously, l was Petrified. l had an hour long lesson before my test on 23rd December a few years ago. Yes, the day before xmas eve, the roads were packed solid with merry christmas shoppers & there l was trying to pass my test for the first time. The only advise l can give u is to relax as much as u possibly can, try to be chatty ( l did not stop talking through nerves) as this shows u can concentrate & think at the same time & just try ur best. l passed first time but l am sure passing is allot harder than it used to be due to high pass rates & the government milking the system any way possible but u will be fine. If not this time, then next. Do not be put off if u do not pass first time, u can try again & maybe be a bit more confident. Whatever happens, u will get there in the end. Just stay positive. GOOD LUCK
OOPS sorry to give bad advise about talking.. it was a few years ago since l passed. They must have got stricter as l gassed the whole time.

My brother teaches drivers training. Just try to relax and follow the rules that you were taught. Sometimes the little things is what causes you to fail. Make sure you turn in the correct lanes, use your turn signals, stop the appropriate distant away, and watch your speed. You can do it, stay calm and confident and smile for your picture!!!

Why r u so scared?
Is it driving that scares you, or fear of failure itself?
If ur driving instructor thinks u will be at the standard required for the Practical Test by early November, then u should trust their judgement & just drive at ur test as well as u do in ur driving lessons.
All the examiner is looking for is a safe, accurate drive, no more & no less. Just concentrate on what you're doing & what u r asked to do, & do not dwell on any mistakes u think u might have made. It is getting into a stew & worrying about mistakes that affects concentration & it is a lack of concentration that accounts for more test failures than lack of skill.
The national average pass rate is around 42%, so statistically well over half the people that take a test fail.
Examiners do understand that people r nervous & most of them will do as much as they possibly can to put u at ur ease.
If u spend the next 6 weeks working yourself up into a right old state, ur fear of failing is likely to turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Try to chill out & keep a sense of perspective about the test.most people r nervous, but failing it is not the end of the world.
Have a chat with ur driving instructor & ask for one or two ''mock tests'' to get used to what the real test situation will be like (it may even be possible for ur instructor to get another driving instructor to take u for the mock tests & this will give u experience of driving with a stranger rather than a familiar person, so it will be more like ''the real thing'').
If u feel ur nerves r severe or u have an issue with the concept of ''failure then it might be worth going to see ur doctor.
Good luck.you would not be going in for ur test if ur instructor did not think u were up to passing.so have confidence in yourself.
PS - do not listen to people who tell u things like ''move ur head around a lot so that the examiner knows u r looking in ur mirrors it is unnecessary & the examiner will know whether you're looking & acting on what u see without ur head whizzing about.do not do what someone else suggested & chatter excessively either.as l said, CONCENTRATION is the key.not exagerrated behaviour :)
Here is a link to a website with some useful tips for coping with ''Test Day Nerves'' :)

Hi Sam, l am an ex driving instructor & can offer u my help. First of all, do not worry about failing. Remember u can take ur test as many times as u like & it does not matter if u do not pass first time. l did not & l became an instructor! The best thing u can do is stay relaxed & go into the test centre with an open mind. By that l mean, go in positive but not overconfident or to negative. Most test candidates fear the examiner to be a middle aged man with grey hair & a clipboard! Not always the case anymore. Much younger examiners have been recruited now to put younger candidates at ease. Remember u will not do anything on ur test that u will not have covered on ur lessons. Just take it easy & relax, u will be fine. Do not think for one minute that failing a driving test attempt is anything to be ashamed about because it is not at all. As long as u keep trying until u do pass then u will come out a winner & not a failure. Give it ur all & the best of luck. l hope this is of help to you. James

Relax its only a driving test its not life & death if u fail u rebook practise & try again. as for talking u talk as much as u want as long as its not affecting ur concentration & ur driving u will not be marked for talking or even talking rubbish if we marked for that the pass rate would plummet nationwide. you will find that ur examiner is actually human & will try to talk to u & put u at ease but remember they will only do this if it is safe & appropriate to do so.
Good Luck
